You might think it was a very long journey, but it's actually half yes, half no. It all started with moving to a new country...
In February 2024, me, my husband and our two children moved from Hungary to the Netherlands. Of course, this was preceded by months of brainstorming and planning. Finally, my husband found a job in his profession in Eindhoven, which we were very happy about, so our new family adventure could begin. It quickly became clear that it would be difficult for me to get a job in the Medical Sales profession with only English, or with my original education, which is dietetics. If I'm being completely honest, I didn't feel like doing any of the above in my heart. I wanted to do something that would make me 100% happy, and preferably also the people who would become my customers.
During this time, I have been crocheting bags for quite some time. My family members have repeatedly asked why I don't try to deal with this if I love it so much. At first I avoided the answer because I thought "What if other people don't like it?" "What if it's not good enough?"
But one morning, sometime in April, I woke up and was like, "Okay, let's do it."
My husband's great support also had a lot to do with this, thank you for that! :)
It was interesting to experience that as soon as I changed my attitude about myself and my bags in my head, I was already able to think differently about the whole business. I already looked at the same bag I crocheted with the thought that yes, it will hold its place on the market and yes, I will find people interested in it! And how well I did! By the end of May, I was ready with all the preparations, I founded my own business here in the Netherlands, KADU Design was created and with it the webshop. (I will write about the preparations in a future post.)
All in all, I needed a change of country in order to break away from the usual and dare to start doing what really interests me and makes me happy. This was a big push for me, I had to figure out and build myself up again. I am still at the beginning of the "construction", but I feel that I am on the right track and I will share every step with you here.
I do it because I think many people (including me) prefer to stay with the usual for decades, even if the usual is not really good - just not bad enough to change.
With these posts, I would like to give motivation to others who want to create something new in their lives.
And for the others, hopefully, I also provide interesting reading material about a mom with two, starting over in another country. :)
